Press ReleaseDerry District Policing Partnership Public MeetingTuesday, 09 March 2010The next public meeting of Derry District Policing Partnership will be held in Saint Canice’s Church Hall, Eglinton Village on Monday 22nd March at 7.30pm. At this meeting the PSNI Area Commander will present his nine-month report (April 2009 – December 2009) on policing within the District. The Area Commander will also outline the priorities and targets agreed with the DPP for inclusion in the Foyle Local Policing Plan 2010/11. Members of the public are welcome to attend all public meetings of the DPP, which offers the opportunity to observe the Area Commander’s response to questions posed by members of the DPP. This meeting will also provide a chance for local people to present their views on policing and will provide a platform for members of the public to question the Area Commander, through the Chairperson of the DPP. The newly elected Chairperson of the District Policing Partnership, Alderman Joe Miller stated, - ‘I would encourage members of the public to attend all public meetings of the District Policing Partnership. Public meetings provide local residents with the opportunity to pose questions on policing directly to the Area Commander. The meeting will also provide a platform for local residents to present their views on policing within the District. District Policing Partnerships have worked tirelessly to ensure that local people continue shape local policing. Members of the Partnership realise that this can only be achieved with continued input from the public.’ The Area Commander’s nine-month report will outline the situation in relation to the targets set out in the Foyle Local Policing Plan for 2009/10 and provide an assessment of progress towards achieving these targets.
